The 2015 ride took place from 17th to 21st September, Thursday to Monday, from London to Edinburgh. Despite being five days with over 420 miles, it was very popular. Premier Inns became established as the hotels of choice, with just the one exception in Alnwick, but the Hogshead Inn proved to be an excellent alternative.
The weather was good apart from the last day through the Borders into Edinburgh. This was also the hilliest day as we took a route via Peterborough, Doncaster and Darlington, the flatter parts of eastern England.
Day 2 has gone down in history as Puncture Friday because of an eight mile stretch of off-road / gravel through the Fens. It was also the first 100 mile day for many people.
Day 3 thorough Yorkshire to Darlington was glorious and is one of Richard's favourite days riding ever.
